ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT

This play showed the rise and fall of Nazi Germany through the eyes of its women. The narrator, a baker’s daughter from a small town, recounts the fates of her three friends, one of whom tries to serve the regime, another is swept away by it, and the third one actively fights it. The story demanded a strong degree of realism, however, the play’s presentational style allowed for bolder choices in terms of color palette and overt use of certain symbology.
