THE BELLS

This play, set in Alaska about ten years after the Klondike gold rush, follows the fates of the few hapless souls who are trapped there, one of them being a ghost of a Chinese immigrant who disappeared under mysterious circumstances right before the gold dried up. The goal for the design was to convey the bone-chilling cold that permeated the very souls of these characters without too much cumbersome bundling. I achieved this by layering fabrics that were not too heavy on their own. I used a mostly cool color palette and utilized blue tones in the aging and distressing of the costumes.
